The aircraft was built by the Canadian Car and Foundry Company. Allocated tail number 52-8520. The trainer was later sold to the West German Air Force with the tail number AA+660. To the Mozambique Air Force and allocated the tail number 1751. The aircraft was bought by Brian Zeederberg and Ian Poppelwell who later sold it to the SAA Apprentice Training School. It was registered ZS-WLS in 1991.
